Basic Training (BT) VI/1

This is the mandatory basic training for all seafarers before they can board any vessel. It consists of four essential courses to ensure the safety of personnel and the ship:

• • Training in Personal Survival Techniques (PST): Focuses on survival techniques in maritime emergencies, such as using life jackets and means of evacuation.
  • Training in Fire Prevention and Firefighting (FPFF): Teaches how to prevent and fight fires using the basic equipment available on board.
  • Training in Elementary First Aid (EFA): Provides basic first aid skills to handle common injuries and emergencies on board the vessel.
  • Training in Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (PSSR): Covers general safety procedures on board, individual responsibilities, and how to interact effectively with colleagues.
